The B Team Goldens

Our names are Jackie and Bernie Calka. Our breeding business is a team effort. Our whole family works together to provide a clean, ethical, safe Breeding business. We both love golden retrievers. Over the years, we have had different golden retrievers with preventable health issues. This was hard for us as a family. This is where the passion and determination to have healthy and happy golden retrievers have developed. I purchased our first golden retriever 25 years ago. Her name was Emma. Unbeknownst to me, We did not know that Emma had severe hip dysplasia of both hips. As we were raising Emma, there were simple tasks that a healthy golden would have no problem doing, but Emma had difficulty going up the stairs or jumping. This causes us all to be sad. When you have a pet, you treat it just like family and do not want it to suffer. It was hard for me to see that the children were so concerned about how Emma was doing with her walking and playing. When you adopt a new pet, you expect them to be healthy and disease-free.  Upon contacting the breeder, I felt terrible that Emma, a beautiful golden retriever, had to struggle because of overbreeding.
